We are seeking a detail-oriented Upholstery Fabric Cutter to join our manufacturing team.
This role involves precise cutting of upholstery fabrics to ensure high-quality furniture production. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabric patterns, mechanical tools, and sewing techniques, contributing to the efficient assembly of custom upholstery pieces. Responsibilities:
• Accurately measure and cut upholstery fabrics according to pattern specifications using specialized cutting tools and machinery
• Interpret design drafts and technical drawings to ensure correct fabric layout and pattern alignment
• Operate sewing machines and other mechanical equipment to assist with fabric preparation when necessary
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed during all operations
• Collaborate with the upholstery team to verify fabric quantities and quality before assembly
•Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues with cutting or sewing equipment to minimize downtime
Qualifications
• Technical competence and knowledge in upholstery fabric cutting
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to upholstery or textile production is advantageous
• Hand cutting experience required
• Strong attention to detail with excellent precision in measuring and cutting fabrics
• Ability to hand draw patterns to match
• Knowledge of Eastman knife
• Prior experience in upholstery, furniture manufacturing, or related fields is a plus
• Ability to work independently as well as work cooperatively with a small team
