Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor to provide leadership and operational oversight within a manufacturing facility in Mocksville, NC. This is a high-level, hands-on production leadership position responsible for ensuring manufacturing operations consistently achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
The Production Supervisor will lead production employees, coordinate daily manufacturing activities, drive accountability for performance, and work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Program Management, and senior leadership to ensure customer requirements and production objectives are achieved.
The ideal candidate is a strong manufacturing leader who is comfortable operating on the production floor, developing employees, solving problems, analyzing production performance, and implementing improvements. This individual must be capable of balancing day-to-day production demands with the longer-term development of people, processes, and manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership & Operations
* Lead and oversee daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, production, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
* Develop and execute daily production plans based on customer requirements, available labor, material availability, equipment capacity, and production priorities.
* Monitor production performance throughout the shift and take immediate corrective action when output, quality, staffing, equipment, or material issues threaten production requirements.
* Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently while maintaining established quality standards and customer requirements.
* Coordinate labor and resources across production areas to maximize productivity and respond to changing operational priorities.
* Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and actively engage with employees, processes, equipment, and production challenges.
* Ensure proper shift transitions and communication of production status, quality concerns, equipment issues, staffing needs, and outstanding actions.
Team Leadership & Employee Development
* Provide direct leadership, coaching, and accountability for production employees.
* Establish clear performance expectations and ensure employees understand production goals, quality requirements, safety standards, and workplace expectations.
* Train, coach, and develop employees to improve technical capabilities, productivity, quality awareness, and overall performance.
* Identify high-potential employees and support cross-training and employee development to strengthen production capabilities.
* Address attendance, performance, conduct, and workplace issues promptly and consistently in coordination with Human Resources and management.
* Conduct performance discussions, corrective actions, and employee evaluations as required.
* Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement throughout the production organization.
Safety
* Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure employees comply with all company safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable regulations.
* Conduct routine observations of production operations and immediately address unsafe behaviors or conditions.
* Participate in incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action implementation.
* Ensure employees receive required safety training and understand safe operating procedures for their assigned work.
* Partner with management to proactively identify and eliminate workplace hazards.
Quality & Customer Requirements
* Ensure production consistently meets established product specifications, quality standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.
* Work closely with the Quality team to investigate defects, nonconforming material, customer concerns, and recurring production issues.
* Lead containment and corrective actions when production or quality issues occur.
* Reinforce standardized work and process discipline throughout production.
* Support automotive quality requirements and applicable quality-management systems, including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
* Participate in audits, corrective actions, customer-related activities, and continuous-improvement initiatives as required.
Productivity & Continuous Improvement
* Monitor key production metrics including output, efficiency, scrap, downtime, labor utilization, quality, rework, and schedule attainment.
* Analyze production performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, labor efficiency, equipment utilization, material usage, and overall manufacturing performance.
* Lead and participate in continuous-improvement initiatives focused on eliminating waste, reducing variation, improving workflow, and increasing productivity.
* Use structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis to address recurring manufacturing issues.
* Develop and implement corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.
* Support implementation and maintenance of standardized work, visual management, 5S, and other Lean manufacturing principles.
* Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment, tooling, staffing, layouts, and processes.

* Strong understanding of production KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, scrap, downtime, quality, and schedule attainment.
* Ability to interpret production data and translate information into corrective actions and operational improvements.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with hourly employees, technical personnel, management, and cross-functional teams.
* Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
* Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions when responding to production disruptions or changing priorities.
* High level of professionalism, integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
* Bilingual Spanish/English is strongly preferred
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
* Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, with progressively increasing responsibility.
* Minimum 3 years of direct production leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
* Experience supervising employees in a high-volume or automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
* Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
* Experience working within an IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 quality-management environment preferred.
* Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action processes preferred.
* Experience with production reporting, ERP/MRP systems, and manufacturing performance metrics preferred.
