The Facilities Maintenance Associate supports the overall cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the distribution center and surrounding facilities. This role is responsible for housekeeping duties, recycling management, facility inspections, equipment operation, and assisting the maintenance team with projects and preventive maintenance activities.
Responsibilities:
· Perform daily inspections of restrooms and breakrooms to ensure adequate supplies of paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
· Remove and dispose of recyclables, including cans and plastic bottles, from breakroom areas as needed.
· Sweep designated receiving and shipping aisles on assigned days and operate floor scrubbing equipment to maintain cleanliness.
· Clean beneath conveyor systems in the high-bay area at least twice per week.
· Remove debris and maintain cleanliness around dock areas and exterior facility entrances on a scheduled basis.
· Collect, sort, and manage cardboard and plastic recycling materials.
· Transport recyclables to designated trailers and recycling areas.
· Remove skids and pallets from shipping and FedEx trailer areas each morning.
· Operate forklifts safely and efficiently when required to support facility operations.
· Assist with facility appearance improvement projects and general maintenance activities as needed.
· Assist with preventive maintenance activities on cranes and other equipment when requested and appropriately trained.
· Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the facility.
· Other duties may be assigned.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
· Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
· Ability to operate forklifts, floor scrubbers, and other facility equipment safely.
· Ability to work in warehouse, distribution center, and production environments.
· Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, warehouse, custodial, or related environments preferred.
· Ability to become Forklift certified.
· Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance-related skills.
· Valid Driver’s license.
